Azerbaijan Work Visa for Indians

You must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply.

You must have an Indian passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the return date of travel.

You should have an authorised invitation or offer letter from an employer registered in Azerbaijan.

You must possess the correct proof of qualification documents based on the job role you have been offered.

You must have proof of ample work experience in your home country and present the same record for at least the last 5 years.

You should not have any criminal records in your home country.

You must have proper financial proof to prove your financial well-being while you live in Azerbaijan.

Before you apply for any Azerbaijan work visa for Indian citizens, the Azerbaijan employers must apply for a work permit on your behalf. This is a necessary step to be done before issuing you an offer letter for any job role or position.

Before they hire any Indian citizen, the Azerbaijan employers need to comply with the following conditions.

The employer needs to submit valid proof to the State Migration Service regarding the foreign employee’s age to be 18 years or above.

The employer must prove that the locals cannot fill the required position.

The employer must provide the foreign national with fair wages.

The employer must submit a list of company documents to authenticate their company’s identification.

The employer needs to collect the following employee documents to apply for a work permit on their behalf.

A completed and signed application form. Available for download at the Republic of Azerbaijan State Migration Service website.

Work experience proof with at least 5 years of work experience.

Qualification proof with proper documentation.

Health certificate to prove medical fitness to work.

Accommodation details for their stay in Azerbaijan throughout their job duration.

The employer is also required to pay the work visa fees to confirm application submission.

Single-entry Short-Term Visa

Anyone looking to visit Azerbaijan for a short work trip for a maximum of 30 days can apply for a short-term work visa.

The criteria include the following employees -

Employees of consulates and other diplomatic representations.

Employees of different international businesses and organisations.

Anyone invited to serve in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan or other army units.

Anyone travelling to Azerbaijan for a business trip as the owner or representative.

All lecturers, teachers, or professors that are invited to deliver lectures in any institute, school, or university.

Any mass media person coming to Azerbaijan with proper accreditation.

All religious workers that are invited by an authorised religious entity in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Work Permit Work Visa

Foreign nationals who are invited for long-term employment contracts are required to present a work permit approval at the time of application submission at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The work permit application is submitted by the registered Azerbaijan employer who wants to hire you for a particular job role at their organisation.

As the employee, you are required to submit a signed and completed application form to the employer so that it can be submitted along with the other necessary documents at the State Migration Service office.

The work permit acts as a temporary resident permit for the applicant to allow them to stay and work in Azerbaijan without any hassle.

For e-visa Applications for Short Stays

For e-visa applications, only the following documents are required.

Clear scanned copy of your passport.

A valid email address for visa status communication.

A debit, credit or AMEX card for payment for application submission.

For Work Visa Applications with Work Permit

A valid passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the return date of travel to Azerbaijan.

All old passports owned by the applicant.

A duly filled and signed application form.

2 coloured photographs of the applicant, taken no longer than 3 months ago, on a clear white background.

A valid invitation letter or offer letter from an authorised and registered employer in Azerbaijan.

All flight tickets and other travel documents.

Visa fee payment receipt.

An authorisation letter indicating the purpose of the visit for the applicant, along with the duration of stay, job responsibilities, and accommodation details.

Police clearance certificate from the home country.

Medical certificate to prove good health and well-being.

Financial documents to prove your ability to live and work in Azerbaijan.

Copies of your income tax returns of at least the last 3 years.

For e-visa Applications for Short Stays

Visit the official Republic of Azerbaijan Official Electronic Visa Portal.

On the home screen, select between “Single-Entry Visa” and “Urgent Visa”.

Once you select “Single-Entry Visa”, a new screen will appear.

Select your nationality as “India” from the dropdown menu.

Next, select “Ordinary Passport” from the dropdown menu for the next information step and then enter the verification code carefully before clicking on “Continue”.

Now, select the purpose of visit as applicable from the dropdown menu and choose between “Standard” or “Urgent” based on visa approval requirements.

Enter your travel start date in the space provided and then click on “Continue”.

Now, read the set of instructions and information on the new window on the screen before clicking on “I have read and accept the conditions stated above”.

Fill in your personal details accurately and attach your passport front and back page copies at the end of the form to proceed.

Once you are ready to submit the application form, click on “Complete Application”.

Next, confirm your email address. This is an important part of the process, as the application reference number and status of the visa application are updated automatically via email only.

Now, fulfil the other requirements and then proceed to make the application payment of $25 or approximately ₹1660.54 for the last step using either Visa or Mastercard to submit the visa application.

For Work Visa Applications with Work Permit

Go to the official website of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, New Delhi, to download the visa application form.

Fill up the application form carefully and then collect the list of required documents, especially the authorised invitation letter and book an appointment at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, New Delhi.

To book an appointment, visit the official Electronic Appointment Portal of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, New Delhi.

Click on “Book Appointment” to proceed.

On the next screen, select the MFA/ Diplomatic Mission as the “Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of India” option from the dropdown menu and then click “Continue”.

Select the service as “Visa” from the next dropdown menu and click on “Continue”.

Now, carefully select the preferred date from the calendar and choose a time slot under it.

For the last step, enter all the required personal information on the screen and then select the “Confirm and Review” option to book your appointment.

Now, visit the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, New Delhi, as per the chosen appointment date and time to submit the visa application form in person.

Make the payment of the visa fee in advance via bank transfer only.

Provide the proof of the same with the other documents and application form.

Collect your application reference number.

Wait for the visa decision to collect your passport from the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in New Delhi.

Please note that work permit approval is mandatory to be allowed to travel to Azerbaijan for employment. The employer in Azerbaijan is responsible for the same.

Azerbaijan e-visa processing time is approximately 3 days for the standard option and 3 hours for urgent visa categories. This period does not take into consideration the public holidays and other country-specific holidays.

For the work visa application submitted at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in New Delhi, the processing time is anywhere between 10 days to 30 days, depending on the status of the work permit approval from the Republic of Azerbaijan State Migration Service.

For e-visa Applications for Short Stays

Go to the official Republic of Azerbaijan Official Electronic Visa Portal status check page.

Enter your registration number as shared on your email after submitting your e-visa application online.

Alternatively, you can either choose to check your application status by entering your email address and passport number or by e-visa number and passport number.

Once you enter the required information, click on “Continue” to view your application status.
