There are three ways to get a Vietnam visa for an Indian. You can apply for an e-visa from India, visa-on-arrival or a sticker visa at the Embassy. The process for applying for each type of visa is explained below for your reference.

-Applying for Vietnam e-Visa for Indians

• An e-visa for Vietnam is valid for 90 days and can be a single entry as well as a multiple entry visa. Following the steps mentioned below to apply for a Vietnam E-visa:

• Go to the Electronic Visa Information Page of the Vietnamese Government. Alternatively, you can apply for a visa on the E-Visa website.

• Select the “Apply Now” option on the page.

• Carefully read the visa guidelines and information that appears on the page and click “Next.”

• When the application page appears, upload a picture of your passport-size photograph and an image of your passport information as depicted on the page. Make sure to follow the photo guidelines mentioned on the page.

• Provide your personal details and any details of your trip being asked for on your screen.

• Once you have completed the application form, click on “Next.”

• Pay the visa fees online through any of the e-payment models being offered.

• You should hear back from the visa office in 4-5 working days after the Vietnam Immigration Department receives your complete application form.

• If your visa is approved, you will receive an update on the visa application in your email.

• Once the visa is granted, you can check the status and download it using the tracking section on the official portal.

-Applying for Vietnam Visa-On-Arrival for Indians

• Another type of visa that Indians can apply for is the visa-on-arrival. You can get the visa on arrival at one of the following airports in Vietnam:

• Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh.

• Cam Ranh Airport in Nha Trang.

• Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

• Danang Airport in Da Nang.

• Cat Bi Airport in Hai Phong.

-Step 1: Obtaining an Approval Letter:

You must apply for an approval letter from one of the authorised agencies that will forward your request to the Vietnam Immigration Department. You must provide the passport information, point of entry and other information to the agency, and they will apply on your behalf to the Immigration Department in Vietnam.

-Step 2: Receipt of approval letter

After a few days, you will receive the approval letter through email. You must take a printout of this letter along. This letter can be used as the visa-on-arrival for travelling to Vietnam.

When you land in Vietnam, you must approach the visa-on-arrival counter at the Vietnam airport and get the visa stamped by producing the required documents and paying the visa fee.

-Applying for a Vietnam Visa At the Embassy or Consulate

• The third type of visa application is the regular paper application, which can be made at the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in India.

• Individuals must apply for an approval letter through a sponsor or tourism company.

• The Tourism company must request an approval letter from the Immigration Department of Vietnam.

• Once the request is accepted, the Immigration Department will send the approval letter to the Vietnam Embassy.

• The applicant must submit all the necessary documents, including the application form, passport, etc., at the Vietnam Embassy.

• After the documents have been verified, the Vietnam Embassy will send the visa.

• An Indian passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of the commencement of your trip. Your passport must have a minimum of two blank pages for the Vietnam visa stamp.

• A coloured passport-size photograph, measuring 4 x 6 cm, taken in the last year.

• The visa approval letter in case of your e-visa.

• Proof of the payment of your visa fees and the amount necessary for the stamping fee in Vietnamese currency for your e-visa.
