A visit to the second richest country in the world with its capital sharing the same name can be quite exciting! Even though Luxembourg is flanked by larger nations like Germany, France and Belgium, this small country boasts plenty of history that is over a thousand years old. For one, Luxembourg is the only Grand Duchy in the world – unlike some other countries, whose official head of state is a king or queen, this nation is governed by a Grand Duke or Duchess!

Also, the old city centre and fortress of Luxembourg have been recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites since 17 December 1994. The city’s Old Quarters are home to a number of popular palaces, castles and other locations, which include the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Grand Ducal Palace and more, offering a glimpse into the nation’s history, architecture and natural beauty.

If Luxembourg is on your wish list and you want to experience the country for its art, culture and greenery, you can start planning your trip to this country with a travel insurance plan for Luxembourg. International travelling insurance can ensure that your trip is financially secure against a range of unprecedented and unforeseen circumstances.

Why Do You Need Luxembourg Travel Insurance?

Before travelling to Luxembourg, it is important to check all the entry guidelines and the travel advisory so that you can plan your trip properly to the last detail. Even though Luxembourg is a small and quite safe country with practically no political unrest or conflicts, there are still chances of other emergencies such as an accident or a sickness that may require medical aid and hospitalisation.

Getting medical aid in a developed country like Luxembourg can be quite expensive. Hence, your travel insurance plan should be able to cover such emergencies as well.

2. Short Stay Visa: The short stay visa (Visa C) is applicable if you are passing through the country or staying there for an uninterrupted period of a maximum of 90 days for:

3. Long Stay Visa :

  • have temporary authorisation to stay in the country
