Without Gear Vehicle Licence: Any individual under the age of 18 can only obtain a learner's licence to drive a privately owned gearless light motor vehicle. However, written consent must be provided by the guardians/parents to permit this.

Geared Vehicle Learning Licence: Individuals who have completed 18 years of age can apply for a learning licence to drive a geared light-motor vehicle only.

Transport Vehicle Licence: Individuals who are 20 years of age and have had a valid driving licence for light motor vehicles for at least 1 year are eligible to apply for a transport vehicle licence.

Learning Licence Karnataka Online Process

Step 1: Visit the official Parivahan Sarathi website.

Step 2: Select your state “ Karnataka” from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: On the page loaded, you will find various options. You need to click on the “Apply for Learning Licence” option.

Step 4: Now, select your category from the dropdown menu, e.g., “General.” Then select the next application options and hit “Submit.”

Step 5: Next, select “Submit via Aadhar Authentication” if you are an Aadhar card holder. If not, then you need to visit the nearest RTO for in-person verification.

Step 6: Now, enter your Aadhar number and the OTP received via SMS on your registered mobile number. Tick on all the checkboxes and hit “Authenticate”.

Step 7: Next, you need to complete the learning licence application form.

Step 8: Once the form is completed, pay your learning licence fees in Karnataka. After the payment is successful, download your payment receipt.

Step 9: Now, proceed with taking an online learning licence test to get your LL Karnataka. It is advised to go through the traffic rules and regulations before giving your test.

Step 10: Finally, when you have passed your test with at least 60%, then you can download a learning licence in Karnataka.

Learning Licence Karnataka Offline Process

Step 1: Download the learning licence form from the Parivahan Sewa website.

Step 2: Fill out the form carefully and visit your nearest RTO office in Karnataka with the completed form and supporting documents.

Step 3: Submit your documents and pay your licence application fees. Make sure to book a slot for the LL test and take your payment receipt from the officer.

Step 4: Revisit the RTO office again for your LL test. Pass the test with at least 60%. Then, you can pick up your LL from the RTO office, or you will receive it via post.
