The Rajasthan Transport Department issues different types of Rajasthan driving licences. These are primarily categorised based on the type of vehicle as described below:

• Two-wheelers without gear

Age limit:

• If you want to ride a two-wheeler without gears, then you need to be at least 16 years old to apply for a driving licence.

• For all other motor vehicles except commercial vehicles, the minimum age limit is 18 years.

• For commercial vehicles, the minimum age limit is 20 years.

• You should have a valid learner’s licence to apply for a driving licence.

• Once you get the learner’s licence, you need to wait for 30 days before you can apply for a driving licence.

• You will get a driving licence once you clear the driving test.

The transport authorities will ask you to submit certain documents as listed below:

• A valid learner’s licence that is more than 30 days old but less than 180 days old

• Application form for a driving licence

• A self-declaration about being physically fit to drive

• A medical certificate from a registered practitioner if you are over 40 years old and want to drive a commercial vehicle

The transport authorities issue a learner’s licence after you clear a theoretical test on traffic rules and road signs. DL Apply Online in Rajasthan

• Visit the Parivahan Sewa website.

• Locate the section “Licence Related Services” on the home page.

• In this section, click “Drivers/Learners Licence.”

• On the next page, select the state as “Rajasthan” in the dropdown menu.

• Next, select the option that is apt for you:

• Apply for a Learner's Licence: Click this option if you do not have a learner’s licence yet. Remember, you will have to clear a basic test on road signs and traffic rules.

Phase 2 - Road Test

Once the examiner is convinced that you have control over the vehicle, he would want to assess your presence of mind in general traffic. Hence, you will be required to drive on a busy street while maintaining control over the vehicle.

On clearing the test, you can expect the licence to arrive within a few days.

What would you do if your licence was stolen? Or if you would have misplaced it. In such cases, you can apply for a duplicate licence from the RTO/DTO. You will have to go through certain formalities for filing the complaint including the application form and documents. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you apply for DL Rajasthan:

• Go to www.parivahan.gov.in/parivahan.

• On the home page, locate the section “Licence Related Services” and click the option “Other Services.”

• On the next page, select the state as “Bhopal” from the dropdown menu.

• Next, click “Apply for Duplicate DL” from the range of options displayed on the screen.

• Enter your driving licence number and date of birth to help the platform locate your record.

• Fill out the application form correctly. Remember, a slight error can cause a lot of trouble later. Double-check the spelling and ensure that all the information provided is correct.

• Upload the requested documents.

• Pay the fees.

If you prefer to apply offline, then you can visit the nearest RTO/DTO office. Here, you can request a form for the issuance of a duplicate passport, fill it out, attach the required documents and pay the fees at the specified counter.

Your driving licence has an expiry date. This means that you are required to renew your licence on or before the said date to keep it valid. In Rajasthan, your driving licence is valid for 20 years or until you turn 50 years old, whichever is earlier. This means that you are required to renew your licence once you turn 50 years old, regardless of how many months/years are left before the licence expires.

• Remember, it is recommended to renew your driving licence before the expiry date to avoid unnecessary hassle. If you miss the date, then you might have to go through the entire process again and/or pay a penalty.

How to renew your driving licence in Rajasthan?

• Visit the official website of Parivahan Sewa, an initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

• Next, click the option “Apply for International Driving Permit.”

• Fill out the application form and submit it with the specified documents.

• Pay the fees.

If you prefer the offline means of communicating, then you can visit the nearest RTO/DTO office to collect the forms. Once you have the form, fill it out carefully, include income details and submit the form. Next, pay the fees in person.

Once you have cleared the driving test, the RTO processes your application and sends the licence by speed pot to your registered address within 30 days. If you want to track your driving licence in Rajasthan status, then here is a quick guide:
