HSRP Haryana

As per the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH), all vehicles across India, including Haryana, will come affixed with a High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP).

MoRTH brought about this standardisation of vehicle number plates by amending the Central Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

All vehicles in Haryana bought before April 2019 must be affixed with a high-security registration plate (HSRP) with its colour-coded plate. This is legally mandated and all vehicle owners in Haryana must abide by it.

Not doing so can levy fines ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000.

This blog explains how to apply for a Haryana HSRP online, the fees associated with it and everything else you need to know about getting a Haryana high-security number plate online.

What You Need to Know Before Registering for an HSRP Number Plate in Haryana:

As stated, only vehicles bought before April 2019 need an HSRP. Similar to getting your car insured with four-wheeler insurance, you must get an HSRP to avoid getting penalised by authorities.

The initial deadline was July 2022, but you can still register to get one after this deadline. However, you do not need to register and install a Haryana HSRP for vehicles bought after 2019, as they already come with one.

Vehicles having damaged or faded HSRPs and colour-coded stickers must be replaced with new ones.

When applying for a Haryana HSRP online or offline, you will only be asked for your RC details, like your vehicle registration number, chassis number, registration date, engine number, etc.

The size of the HSRP plate for different vehicle categories must be:

For 2 and 3 Wheelers: 200 x 100 mm and 285 x 45 mm

For Light Motor Vehicles and Passenger cars: 340 x 200 mm and 500 x 120 mm

For Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles and Trailer Combinations: 340 x 200mm
