Extra pillion riders: If you are found tripling, then the new traffic fine is ₹20000, which was earlier ₹2000. Also, another punishment for violation of this traffic rule is that your licence will get suspended for 3 months.
Drunk driving: The new rules for traffic state that if you are caught driving while you are intoxicated, you will pay a sum of ₹10000.
Violation of traffic rules by juveniles: If a juvenile breaks any of the new traffic rules, then the guardian or the parent of the child will be held guilty. In this case, the new traffic challan rate is ₹25000 and imprisonment for 3 years. Also, the person who is a juvenile will be restrained from receiving their driving licence until they turn 25.

New Amendments Introduced in the New Rules for Traffic
Here are the new amendments related to traffic offences and penalties in India:
- If a vehicle is getting interrogated by the police, it will be updated on the online portal.
- Any physical verification of any document is not required. If in case the police need to suspend a driving licence, they can do it through the portal available online.
- Under the new rules for the traffic, the behaviour of the driver will be noted and this will be updated by the authorities on the online portal.
- E-challans will be issued to people for violation of traffic rules.
- According to the new traffic rules, you do not need to have hard copies of any documents. You can simply carry soft copies of all your car-related documents.
